JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Portfolio is responsible for partnering across teams to enhance project intake and demand management processes while identifying improvement areas, creating and implementing recommendations and action plans. The role maintains and supports the development of Iterative project portfolio status reporting standards, metrics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Furthermore, the incumbent oversees reporting of their portfolio to Leadership on key metrics such as: budget health, schedule health, major risks and mitigation strategies, rate of new project intake rates, in progress initiatives, and resourcing. Moreover, the role is accountable for governance solutions focusing on portfolio quality, project prioritization, and resource alignment across initiatives. The incumbent handles the project portfolio across the organization with the goal of ensuring alignment across Facility Management as well as improving the successful execution of Iterative initiatives.

EXPERIENCE

Facility Management Planning or Project Management

  • Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience with facility management planning or project management
  • Between 3 to 5 years of experience in a management position with direct reports and team leads

o Experience with project and portfolio management tools

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/DESIGNATION

  • College Diploma or DEC in Engineering Technology
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering*
  • Professional Engineer Licence*
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and SAFe Certification*
  • Any designation for these above would be considered as an asset

TECHNICAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of project and portfolio management best practices
  • Fluently Bilingual, both written and verbal (English, French)
  • Knowledge of building Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Compressed Air Systems, Direct Digital Controls (DDC) commissioning practices
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Responsibilities:

  • Create a collaborative partnership among portfolio stakeholders that enables resource demand planning, initiative strategic alignment, and project pipeline planning decisions
  • Work with Finance and the project team to develop processes and governance to support project intake
  • Support the project team with regularly scheduled Gating discussions to confirm adherence to Project Management Office (PMO) methodology
  • Develop and deploy project and program auditing strategy with a focus on visibility into trends, communication to steering committees, and risk mitigation
  • Build strong relationships within CN to understand the business challenges and opportunities
  • Collaborate with managers and leadership to understand day-today challenges and collectively improve work methods and tools
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager in defining vision and development strategy
  • Develop practice KPIs and improvement measures
  • Work toward implementation of a continuous improvement culture
