Our Terra Nova team are looking for an experienced leader for our Process Engineering group. You provide leadership to a team in the areas of Process , Process Safety and Automation Engineering.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering and Professional Engineering designation
  • Minimum 10 years related process engineering experience in the upstream oil and gas business with experience in fixed and floating production systems, topsides facilities and offshore production operations support
  • Proven leadership with increasing scope and responsibility
  • Accountable to ensure the team works effectively in delivering Process Safety performance, on time delivery of goals, and providing technical support to Operations
  • As a top priority you will provide leadership of our Process Engineering team with development and application of processes, systems and tools to ensure compliance with the East Coast OEMS Business Processes
  • Ensuring that current and appropriate codes, standards and guidelines are utilized as well as identifying, interpreting and complying with all appropriate acts, regulations, codes, standards and guidelines
  • Demonstrated knowledge in multiple Engineering disciplines
  • Strong collaboration in a multidisciplinary, integrated team environment with excellent communication with stakeholders
  • Lead technical change through all steps of innovation, development, risk management, implementation, training and sustainment
  • Strong execution skills and the development of realistic plans including estimates of costs, staff and resource needs and assignment of clear accountability for deliverables

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and Lead the Process, Process Safety and Automation Engineering team on a daily basis
  • Manages the Terra Nova design basis to ensure it is well defined and maintained
  • Ensures Process Safety performance aligns with Terra Nova’s risk priorities and Enterprise reporting guidelines
  • Ensures the Control & Safety System, including all Operational Technology meets required performance targets and manages obsolescence plan for systems and equipment to meet life cycle objectives.
  • Provides Process and Automation Engineering support to Operations, Reliability Engineering and Production Engineering for immediate trouble-shooting, production optimization, bottle-necking concerns, and process model improvements in the oil, gas and water streams

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of the Suncor Centre Offices located at 130 Kelsey Drive, St. John’s, Newfoundland
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extra time project requirements
  • Periodic trips to the Terra Nova FPSO may be required
