Overview:
The Manager Procurement is a leadership role responsible for a single country or regional area within a larger market performing procurement and supply & logistics work for materials and finished goods to support CB&I Storage Solutions’ operations. The Manager Procurement is responsible for developing, training, guiding and supervising a team of professionals and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting both prospects and projects by identifying varied sources of commodities, subcontract and labor services, evaluating bids, awards contracts and purchase orders, expediting and inspecting vendors/subcontractors, and maintaining current databases of qualified suppliers and subcontractors
- This role routinely interacts with internal Operations/Project Management, other Functional personnel (Engineering, estimating, project controls, etc.), Executive Management, Professional Staff and Corporate Function Leads
- Exercises full management authority, including performance reviews, pay decisions, recruitment, discipline, termination and other personnel actions
- Manages, motivates, trains, develops and supervises a local or regional supply chain department
- Has accountability for the performance of the department
- Supports local management with business strategies and new bid and project opportunities that require support from procurement and subcontracts
- Influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures
- Proactively identifies, develops, qualifies and regularly meets with suppliers and subcontractors to support projects
- Oversees the development of bidders list for projects to ensure proper coverage of all available vendor options for pricing requests
- Responsible for purchase of material and services at or below estimate using procurement processes while maintaining consistency with schedule requirements
- Evaluates and approves bid comparisons to ensure fair, accurate and competitive bidding.
- Negotiate complex or large local currency and dollar value purchase orders and subcontracts for regional and/or international purchases
- Resolve claims or dispute events with vendors
- Represents the department in meetings with other functions/management.
- Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures and manages regular audits of the group’s compliance.
- Provides training and guidance for staff
- Proactively recommends, supports, and implements improvements to tools, systems and software to improve efficiency and maximize autonomy
- Establish medium and long term career and personal development goals
Qualifications:
- 15+ Yrs. years of Procurement and/or Subcontracts experience in progressively advancing roles, especially sourcing material on a global market
- 5+ years EPC Industry experience is preferred.
- BA or BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, Technical / Engineering, Construction Management or related field; or equivalent experience
- Prefer JD Edwards (JDE) software experience
