Overview of the Role :
The position reports to the Plant Manager. The position focuses on production line performance by teaming up with the other departments and business partners. Other key responsibilities include developing the supervisor team, production labor management, as well as supporting all other key Plant functions and activities to meet the requirements of the business.
The successful candidate, as one of the key members in Plant management, drives the development of the Plant; develops and empowers production team members to promote the three pillars of the Plant culture – Health and Safety, Food Safety and Productivity; and delivers the Saputo core values in fast-paced multi-cultural work environment.
Schedule: Monday – Friday; weekends as needed
Salary: 101,720.00 - 127,150.00 - 152,580.00 CAD Annual

How you will make contributions that matter:

  • Be accountable for production line efficiencies.
  • Manage line cost and yields to drive improvement.
  • Identify and close gaps in the Production department and extended business scopes while teaming up with internal and external business partners.
  • Monitor and develop labor model to achieve the best labor utilization.
  • Collaborate with other departments for continuous line performance improvement.
  • Lead and develop Production Supervisor team to optimize the team structure and be a high-performance team.
  • Improve the employee training program to support the business development.
  • Lead and support the team to achieve success in all business requirements, i.e. Food Safety, Health and Safety, Saputo Culture reinforcement, etc.
  • Manage employee relationships to promote and develop positive working environment.
  • Empower employees as well as hold employees accountable, to drive and improve the employee performance.
  • Work with Plant Managers to maintain the strong relationship with the current Union.
  • Willing to embrace new challenges and responsibilities as needed.

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Operations Management or related field.
  • Strong manufacturing working experience and food packaging experience is preferred.
  • 5-10 years supervisory/management experience in fast-paced unionized working environment.
  • Proven capability to build and develop a high-performance team.
  • Lean Six Sigma training experience is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety policies is preferred.
  • Independent, analytical, and data driven.
  • Passionate, structured, and strong organizational skills.
  • Team player with strong collaboration skills.
  • Champion of clear communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, results oriented, possess high degree of initiative, work well under pressure.
  • Must be available to work a flexible work week.
  • Looking for an individual with strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, etc.).
