Description:

The role You will work as part of a small collaborative team responsible for leading implementation of the Pharmacy Business Ownership Act 2024. The project is dynamic and challenging and will require you to be flexible and agile in your approach as implementation activities progress.
The Pharmacy Business Ownership Act will establish the Queensland Pharmacy Business Ownership Council and create a new licensing framework for pharmacy business owners in Queensland. Over the next 12 to 18 months, the project team will be responsible for a diverse range of implementation activities required to ensure the new Act can commence, and to support pharmacy business owners in the transition process.
Working as part of a project team, responsibilities will include: - overseeing the establishment of the Queensland Pharmacy Business Ownership Council, including developing internal processes and governance documents for the new statutory body - developing materials, such as guidelines, webinars and fact sheets, to support pharmacy business owners and their legal representatives to transition to the new Act.- ensuring the Council has the necessary IT, corporate services support and staffing to undertake its new functions, including licensing of pharmacy business owners.- developing subordinate legislation to support the new Act. You will use your strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead components of the project and work as part of a team to ensure all stages of implementation are completed successfully and on schedule.
You will demonstrate sound judgment in providing high quality, strategic advice on complex technical and legislative issues relating to implementation of the Pharmacy Business Ownership Act, informed by research and analysis.
The successful personTo excel in this role, you will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially within a project management framework. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the capability to foster influential and productive relationships across Queensland Health and with various stakeholders.
Additionally, you should have proven leadership and people management skills in a project setting, including the ability to coach and mentor staff effectively. Demonstrated experience in collaborating within a team to cultivate a positive culture, along with a commitment to maintaining a customer service mentality and supporting colleagues, is crucial. While not mandatory, a relevant qualification in law or knowledge of the community pharmacy sector would be highly beneficial.
