JOB TITLE: Manager, RCSA Management & Control Execution – Consumer Lending Chief Controls Office
LOCATION: Chester, Manchester or Leeds
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days a week) in our one of our Chester, Manchester or Leeds offices.
About this opportunity
This Manager role within our Secured RCSA Management & Control Execution Team presents an opportunity to join the newly-formed Consumer Lending Chief Controls Office delivering a broad range of activities that focus on how Consumer Lending as a business manages its non-financial control environment.

This means we’re changing how we do risk and control management, creating a team of control specialists to provide support to our risk owners to deliver great customer outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

  • Monitoring and supporting a range of control management processes and activities in alignment with the Group’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF).
  • Managing the timely and accurate production of high-quality documentation, reporting and analysis to support development of the control environment:
  • Working with risk and control owner teams to help deliver against aligned customer, business and strategic outcomes.
  • Producing timely and accurate documents and reports by collecting risk and control data from a variety of sources and input data into standardised formats.
  • Assisting the development of the first line control management centre of excellence that supports safe growth and enables high quality customer service.
  • Delivering prescribed outcomes by working with established control design, mapping, monitoring and testing approaches. Reporting findings and deviations using concise and clear reporting and escalation as appropriate to senior colleagues.
  • Working with risk and control owner teams to investigate questions related to the existing control environment.
  • Apply a wide variety of control monitoring and testing procedures.
  • Supporting timely reporting on the effectiveness and performance of controls and compliance.
  • Driving management of actions on operational risk events and breaches following Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA). Identifying issues and then suggesting and implementing improvements to the control environment with guidance from senior colleagues.

What you’ll need

  • Experience of data-led control management and its practical implementation. Good organisational skills to support the preparation of documentation that includes summarising data and information to produce and maintain standardised risk and control process maps.
  • Ability to provide support to the ongoing development of control tooling solutions to enable optimisation and automation of the control environment.
  • An ability to understand and assimilate different sources of data and complex information to support with effective problem solving that leads to relevant conclusions and recommendations.
  • Experience of demonstrating strong analytical skills to support the assessment of the control environment effectiveness using a wide range of information and sources to identify potential impacts on the business.
  • Provide reports on control testing activity to enable the production of concise reporting outputs on the effectiveness and performance of controls and compliance.
