JOB DESCRIPTION

The Manager Research Analyst is responsible for a wide range of investment manager research projects providing support to the Investment Management Research department.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with Research and Client Teams to determine best candidates for investment manager searches and process client materials
  • Update and maintain systems to help facilitate the processing of searches including refinement of the current method
  • Assist in developing new techniques for evaluating and presenting manager portfolios to Client Teams and Clients
  • Assist in the discovery and evaluation of investment managers, including travel to conduct due diligence on investment managers, when necessary
  • Meet with investment managers, through in-person meetings and conference calls; documenting firm changes, team changes, and portfolio exposures
  • Assist in the completion of quarterly asset class and investment manager reviews, including broad market evaluation, attribution analysis and exposure reporting
  • Keep RVK’s Consulting Teams informed of any pertinent information regarding our clients’ investment managers both written and orally
  • Update and maintain systems to help facilitate the processing of searches including refinement of the current method
  • Create, manage and manipulate spreadsheets

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Economics or Mathematics
  • Two (2) years of industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pursuing Chartered Financial Analyst designation and/or Master’s degree
  • Experience with conducting manager research
  • Ability to communicate effectively coupled with strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills able to understand financial concepts
  • Candidates with experience using eVestment, Morningstar, Markoff Processes International, Bloomberg will be given preference
  • Ability to excel in a deadline-driven environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite; specifically: Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Travel Requirements
10% (2-4 days per month)
