Description:
We are hiring for a Manager.
The role
As part of the leadership team in Financial Stability, you will oversee the Bank’s research and analysis of vulnerabilities and resilience of household and business finances. Using these insights and your collaborative approach, you will form an assessment of risks to financial stability and draw out implications for monetary policy and macroprudential policy. This high-quality policy analysis and advice is delivered to executive management, the Board and other Council of Financial Regulator agencies as appropriate. You will lead and develop individuals and teams to achieve goals and deliver RBA outcomes, ensuring compliance with relevant Bank policies.
Your background
We are looking for a thoughtful leader who is passionate about public policy. Given the nature of the work in the section and department, you will need to have:
- Strong critical thinking skills to guide and produce analysis on complex policy questions and issues.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- A demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with the intended audience in mind.
- Experience in leading people and coaching junior staff.
- Experience analysing economic activity and/or macro-financial interlinkages.
- Post graduate qualifications in economics or related field.
Key Objectives
- Contribute to the broader strategic direction and leadership of Financial Stability, sharing accountability with other leaders for overall performance of deliverables and outcomes to meet the needs of the Bank.
- Lead, guide and develop individuals and teams to effectively achieve department and organisational outcomes.
- Lead the team’s contributions to assessing and communicating risks to financial stability, collaborate with other policy areas to provide assessment of implications for monetary policy, and liaise with other CFR agencies – particularly APRA – as appropriate.
- Support the Bank’s representation to the Council of Financial Regulators and other bodies such as the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, the Financial Stability Board and the Trans-Tasman Council on Banking Supervision. Develop and maintain contacts with financial regulators, academics and financial practitioners and represent the Bank at conferences, seminars and meetings as required.
