Description:

Note Issue Department is responsible for the provision of secure and reliable banknotes. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager to lead the Banknote Production Team.
As the Manager, Banknote Production, you will lead a team of staff responsible for overseeing the production of high-quality banknotes. You will manage the relationship with Australia’s banknote printer Note Printing Australia and also lead the departments engagement with the Banknote Equipment Manufacturing Industry. In addition, you will play a key supporting role in the project to redesign the $5 banknote.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Management of the relationship with Note Printing Australia.
  • Overseeing a range of analysis activities to ensure that Australia’s banknotes remain efficient, high-quality and secure.
  • Overseeing analysis into data, research and trends to help inform the ongoing development of banknote strategy and policies.
  • Contract management including working closely with the Bank’s legal department to manage new and existing legal agreements for the Section.
  • Contributing to the $5 redesign projecting including providing advice on the development and coordination of new banknotes designs, identifying and responding to risks, opportunities and supporting the Section to deliver project outcomes.
  • Engagement with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders within the Banknote Industry.

Your background:

  • Highly developed ability to understand stakeholder requirements and consideration of such in analysis and execution.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating legal and/or contract matters.
  • Ability to communicate results of analysis through high quality written reports and documents adjusted according to the intended audiences.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience communicating in various forums.
  • Ability to understand and interpret a broad range of data and information sources, as input into and context for analytical, scientific and technical work.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage risks and issues.
  • Ability to lead, direct and guide the work of others, in a technical environment.

Your team
Teams within the Note Issue Department deliver specialised services to provide banknotes that the public can trust. As the Manager, Banknote Production you will lead a team of Analysts and Business Support Staff to provide expertise into the research, analysis and development of banknote strategy, planning, design, development, and production. The team will also contribute significantly to the exciting project to redesign the $5 banknote to honour the culture and history of First Nation peoples.
