Responsibilities:

THIS ROLE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Managing ANZ’s CCPL credit risk framework
Driving growth and momentum initiatives and strategies
Developing and leading junior credit risk professionals

THIS ROLE IS ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

Financial: Displaying thought leadership with respect to the development and implementation of Acquisition strategies that are geared towards balancing the trade-offs across customer experience, credit automation/process simplification, new business writing/revenue growth, and managing loss exposure.
Financial: Assisting to deliver an agreed work plan across Acquisition Strategies that is aligned to operational strategies and deliver the greatest benefit to the wider organisation.
Financial: Contributing to performance conversations with an operational and strategic focus, to ensure the appropriate dialog takes place with an emphasis on understanding portfolio performance in the areas of scorecard outcome, delinquency outcomes, settlements and conversion relative to Business Writing Strategies (BWS) / Plan, key trends, operational performance, root causes, and key and emerging risks and issues but also opportunities for both retail portfolios and agree, prioritise and support appropriate actions.

Customer: Assisting with the development and documentation of acquisition strategies, their alignment with operational process/strategy, business requirements, issues, and specific enhancement proposals.
Customer: Assisting with prioritisation of tasks and projects to ensure optimal resource usage and business benefit and supporting effective management of workloads, without compromising quality of deliverables.
Process: Helping drive all related aspects of target opportunities in strategy development that directly contributes to the ongoing improvement of acquisition simplification and efficiency via the use of predictive decision strategies.
Process: Participating in projects to rationalise, simplify, and improve credit policy deployment, acquisition front end strategy, and process.
People: Provide technical advice, technical training and mentoring to team members.
Risk Compliance: Ensuring all acquisition strategies/ and front-end models comply with ANZ Group governance requirements, policies, processes, and standards and with legal/regulatory requirements.
Risk Compliance: Managing Non-Financial Risks. Know your risks, know your controls, manage your COR events (information in COR is accurate, up-to-date, easy to understand, and action oriented). Support Audits and deliver on all audit-related commitments.
Risk Compliance: Support regulatory engagements, including those of a BAU nature, with relevant insights and updates on key topics and commitments made.
Risk Compliance: Identify trends, risks, issues, and opportunities; resolve them and/or report escalate to snr mgt as required.

What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:
Strong analytical and research skills with a proven ability in problem solving and ability to turn data into actionable strategy
Proven technical capabilities and experience with data analytics/science and/or decision systems techniques and tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, R, Python, PowerCurve, AbInitio, etc.).
Proven ability to design, enhance and work with reporting sources.
At least ten years’ experience in risk management, with extensive cross-functional and cross-portfolio strategy experience.
Skilled at the use of facts in discussions and communication with staff and peers.
Proven ability to communicate up (one level above) and amongst peer groups.
Effective people and project management skills - with the ability to motivate analysts.
Well-developed written and oral skills.
Demonstrated financial skills in portfolio management.
In depth understanding and knowledge of acquisitions processes and requirements, acts and legislation impacting collections practices.
Demonstrated ability to manage in a downturn (where delinquency and losses have exceeded 20% of the norm), has shown resilience capabilities.
Sound understanding of global best practice credit origination environments, strategies, and techniques.
Understanding of ANZ existing source and reporting systems.
