Role Summary:
The Manager, Revenue Accounting is responsible for executing on the strategy for the Revenue Accounting teams at Alaska Air Group (AAG). As a people leader, the Manager, Revenue Accounting leads and establishes priorities for the team to accurately and timely record AAG Air Traffic Liability, Revenue Recognition and other related financial entries and reporting in compliance with all internal, regulatory and airline industry rules and standards.

Key Duties:

  • Leads teams as assigned and establishes priorities for the processing and recording of over $9 billion in AAG passenger ticket sales, and over $150 million in annual cargo revenues.
  • Makes decisions and provides subject matter expertise in financial audits of AAG sales and revenue.
  • Primary contact for multiple third-party vendors. Provides feedback and oversight of vendor performance. Ensures expectations are met and corrective actions taken when needed.
  • Makes decisions and changes to ensure quality data and timely reporting goals are achieved, while at the same time meeting internal and SOX control standards, productivity, and cost goals.
  • Cultivates and collaborates effectively with other cross-divisional teams to determine accurate ticketing / sales reporting and revenue recognition processes when changes are proposed to up-line operations or systems.
  • Provides input in the strategy with cross-divisional teams working on key initiative/IT/Marketing projects.
  • Implements procedural or process changes as they relate to the transactional processing, account reconciliation, and internal controls.
  • Develops people through effective performance management and ongoing, consistent feedback, and ensures staffing levels are adequate in all areas of responsibility within the Revenue Accounting team.
  • Fosters a culture of engagement, holds self and others accountable through trust and authentic relationships.
  • Promotes a high-performance culture by cultivating and motivating direct/indirect reports through coaching, mentoring, and by providing regular and meaningful feedback.
  • Identifies and provides career development opportunities through developmental assignments and formal/informal training.
