If so, we want you to be a part of our team at the Justice Reform Office (JRO).
The Justice Reform Office (JRO) is a permanent office tasked with leading reform of Queensland’s criminal justice system. The JRO develops, tests and implements initiatives to reform the criminal justice system.
The JRO also provides high-level secretariat support to ministerial and government committees.These include: - Support to the Independent Ministerial Advisory Council (IMAC), a new body that will provide advice to Ministers and government agencies on criminal justice issues.- The IMAC was created to provide government with advice, guidance and the perspective of victims on how we can reform the criminal justice system and provide support for victims, particularly in relation to youth crime.- Membership of the IMAC includes victim-survivors, victim advocates, representatives from the legal sector and peak advocacy bodies, First Nations leaders and expert practitioners.- Support to various government governance and decision-making committees, other governmental and ministerial committees.
Your key responsibilities: As Manager, you will lead a small team responsible for providing high-level secretariat support to the IMAC and other governmental and ministerial committeesas required.- You will build capability of each team member to increase their knowledge and skills.- You will develop and implement effective and accurate secretariat processes, records and systems.- You will oversee and support the team to prepare high-quality briefings, meeting papers, reports, correspondence and other secretariat documents as required.- You will establish and maintain effective relationships with secretariat stakeholders, including members of the IMAC and senior leaders in criminal justice agencies.- You will support the IMAC to set key priorities, respond to requests for advice, and coordinate responses from the IMAC policy team.
