Description:
WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON
As part of the Centre for Animal Rehabilitation under the Professional and Scientific Services Division, your role will involve operations and research relating to the welfare, behaviour and rehabilitation of animals.
Your scope of work includes:
- Manage duties required in the centre to ensure smooth functioning, including procurement and management of inventory and contract services, supervision of contractors, planning and budgeting, data management and analysis, regular maintenance and upkeep of facilities and equipment, workplace health and safety, and managerial duties
- Assist with animal operations, including handling public enquiries, liaison with external parties such as the public, volunteers and Animal Welfare Groups on enquiries and the Centre’s programmes, animal care and husbandry.
- Develop, implement and manage research projects relating to animal welfare and behaviour
- Assist with the different activities and programmes related to the Centre.
Responsibilities:
The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), a cluster of NParks, safeguards the health and welfare of animals through comprehensive and integrated programmes. AVS works closely with partners in the veterinary and animal-related industries to strengthen capacities and enhance competencies in animal health and welfare. It is the main touch-point on animal and veterinary matters in Singapore and the first responder for all animal-related feedback. It also conducts public education and engagement programmes to foster a humane and gracious society for all, where pet owners, communities, and animals co-exist in greater harmony within our City in Nature.
