Description:

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

You have:

  • Deep knowledge and practical experience with greenhouse gas emissions accounting (Scopes 1 -3) using the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and energy and emissions reporting under the National Greenhouse Emissions Reporting (NGER) scheme.
  • Practical knowledge and experience in climate risk and opportunity assessment, transition planning and/or decarbonization strategy.
  • Outstanding project and time management skills.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification.

Category 2 Registered Greenhouse and Energy Auditor certification with the Clean Energy Regulator is beneficial but not required.
Similarly, familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks such as the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) Framework, draft Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards, and familiarity with financial statement audits and the audit process will be beneficial but is not required for the right candidate.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Are you passionate about transition planning?
Our Sustainability Reporting team works proactively with our business and our clients in the application of sustainability reporting standards, including the draft Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS), IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, and other associated local and international legal and regulatory requirements.
We have the opportunity for a manager or senior manager to support our growing team. This role will provide high-quality advice to our clients who are preparing for the upcoming mandatory climate-related financial disclosure regime in Australia, with particular focus on the areas of greenhouse gas emissions accounting, transition planning and decarbonization strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advise clients in greenhouse gas emissions accounting (Greenhouse Gas Protocol and NGER Scheme methodologies), baselining and tracking emissions over time.
  • Advise clients in the development of right-size and robust transition planning and decarbonisation strategies.
  • Collaborating with the sustainability reporting team to assist in the development and delivery of technical training or tools based on business and client needs.
  • Contribute to technical publications in the areas of greenhouse gas emissions accounting and transition planning.
