EDUCATION & SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s degree or College diploma related to Electrical Engineering or recognized equivalent
- Registered member of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) in good standing preferred
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems and substation design and operation
- Sound knowledge of the Electrical Utility safety rules, Utility Work Protection Code, and other applicable Codes and regulations
- Knowledge of regulatory and governmental requirements (OEB Rules and Regulations, PIPEDA and OHSA)
- Knowledge and experience with computerized maintenance management software preferred
- Proficiency with MS Office applications,
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 10 years’ experience including at least 5 years of supervisory experience in the electrical distribution industry
- Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting and testing of high voltage and distribution class electrical equipment
- Experience in a unionized utility environment an asset

Responsibilities:
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Manager, Substation Sustainment is responsible for maintaining Alectra stations in optimal working condition. This position manages the safety, security, and performance of substation assets by supporting Stations capital programs and through the effective development and execution of inspection and maintenance programs. This role provides leadership to a team of Supervisory, field, and support staff in the safe and efficient management of all substation-related assets.
