At Nutrien, our purpose is Feeding the Future and we do so with safety, inclusion, integrity and results as our core values. Nothing is more important than sending our people home safe, every day.
Nutrien is a leading provider of agricultural products, services, and solutions. With over 26,000 employees world-wide, we are the largest producer of potash (by capacity) and one of the world’s largest producers of nitrogen and phosphate. We also operate a leading agriculture retail network that services over 500,000 growers globally.
We harvest the best. Diverse views and experience make us strong. We look for people who have a safety-first mindset, who are collaborative team players, who deliver on their commitments, act with integrity, and who support inclusion.
Working at Nutrien will provide you an opportunity to help us raise the expectation of what an agriculture company can be and grow your career.
Reporting to the Director Communications, NPKC, this position will have responsibility for driving strategic communications for Nutrien across Canada with an emphasis on positively representing our Potash business.

Responsibilities:

  • In partnership with the broader Brand & Culture Communications team, Potash Business Unit leadership, and other core stakeholders across Canada, develop, and execute best-in-class, integrated communications strategies to deepen understanding of who Nutrien is, heighten the profile of the potash business, and demonstrate what we stand for among target audiences
  • Use a suite of internal and external communication tools to ensure that Nutrien is recognized as a great place to invest and to work, as well as a respected member of the community that contributes to the economic and community well-being of Saskatchewan, and across Canada
  • Create impactful storytelling materials and media pitches that bring our important role in the province and across Canada and the world to life and break through across various earned, owned and paid channels and opportunities
  • Connect and integrate across the potash business and related functions to uncover powerful stories that will resonate with our key external and internal audiences and demonstrate our culture, purpose and values in action
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with media, senior stakeholders and colleagues to manage proactive and reactive media relations for the EVP & President Potash and their leadership team as well as other key stakeholders in Canada
  • Help develop and execute internal and external communications in association with Nutrien’s crisis management system
  • Provide external and internal communications counsel to the potash leadership team and other stakeholders in Canada, coordinating with our colleagues who do the same for our retail business
  • Draft and refine communications (speeches, memos, stories, social posts) for a variety of senior business leader engagements and community outreaches
