Our fun and collaborative British Columbia team is looking for a Manager, Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) and Locating based in Langley. The Manager will be responsible for carrying out utility mapping assignments for internal GeoVerra projects and grow the business to new external clients. At start, this position will require the individual to conduct their own field investigations as the Utility Locating team in British Columbia continues to grow.
The successful candidate must have excellent competency in searching utility records, utility field methodologies, processing data collection, writing reports, and excellent knowledge of ASCE-38-22 utility engineering standards.
This position has significant impact with external clients and internal team members, and therefore needs to be connected and live out the company’s Vision, Mission and Values through actions and results.

• Assist and perform field investigations from quality level C to B and complete Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), Mapping and Locating assignments for internal GeoVerra projects and external clients.
• Manage client expectations, develop, and monitor project scope, budget, schedule, and quality control for SUE, mapping and Locating projects from the proposal stage through final deliverables.
• Plan crew schedules and coordinate with other departments within GeoVerra to ensure the proper allocation of personnel and resources to meet project deadlines.
• Monitor project and team performance. Forecast project outcomes and adjust where necessary to deliver successful project outcomes.
• Partner with internal and industry experts to grow the Utility Locating business in British Columbia.
• Contact potential clients to establish rapport, build relationships and identify and develop strategies to pursue new business leads.
• Identify and resolve client, project and/or team issues.
• Ensure Quality, safety, legislation, and industry standards are met or exceeded. Develop and implement safety protocols and conduct regular inspections.
• Facilitate an environment of high performance. Mentor and support the development of self and the project team members.
