TE TŪRANGA | ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Manager transport network & operations your primary responsibility will be seek improvements in the way Tauranga City Council, plans, manages and operates its Transport network.

The key deliverables for this role will be:

• Leadership of a highly technical team of 20+
• Build organizational systems, capability and capacity to meet future needs
• Stakeholder and contractor management
• The maintenance and renewal of the transport infrastructure across the city
• Assurance, oversight and improvement opportunities for our maintenance and operations contracts

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• 10+ years in senior role within maintenance and operations
• Technical credibility and a subject matter expertise
• Excellent contract management and commercial astuteness
• Superior interpersonal skills
• Action orientated approach, confident in decision making
• Pro-active managerial approach
• The ability to step back and reflect on the issue at hand
• Sound context within the New Zealand road and transport network, and
• A close connection with community needs in relation to an integrated approach to planning and delivery to maintain social license and network functionality
