QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related discipline from a recognised Tertiary Institution
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in a similar capacity
• Expert knowledge of a digital video/audio platform and experience in implementation, operation of an OTT platform.
• Proven experience in managing and working with vendor in the OTT video/audio delivery space
• Solid understanding the concept of APIs for system to system integrations and scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python, Java)
• Understanding of Digital / Analog Audio, Broadcast Specifications, Digital Radio would be a plus
• Experience in using AWS Cloud Services would be a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Optimise and maintain online video/audio streaming workflow, both for Live and On Demand, video/audio streaming profiles for different devices and platforms which includes strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving abilities when working on complex video/audio streaming problems across different platforms
• Write automation scripts to monitor, debug and efficiently operate the video/audio streaming infrastructure, perform capacity planning, video/audio resource allocation and preparation for scheduled as well as ad-hoc live events and technical liaison with key vendors in the video/audio streaming space
• Work and collaborate across different teams within the organization on integration points and integration efforts such as gathering product requirements from business units and translate them to engineering deliveries, evaluate, prototype solution designs and perform POC to satisfy these business requirements
• Prepare functional specifications that can be understood by business units and development teams, prepare cost estimates for product and solutions, plan resources for key deliveries and drive operation process and efficiency within and across the organization.
• Conduct presentations or training session for related technologies, defer and measure key performance metrics for application performance, client performance, and audio performance for video/audio services.
• Expert knowledge of 3 or more of following topics such as Video/Audio workflow and metadata management, CDN, DRM, Data Analytics, Commerce engine and Payment system.
• Deep understanding of video/audio codecs (H264, H265, VP9, AV1, MPEG AAC Audio, MP3, HEAACV1, HEAACV2), compression algorithms and streaming protocols
