Description:

ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant to join our growing HSE and M&A advisory services practice in Jakarta, Indonesia.
In this role, you will be a key contributor to a team focused on developing and growing ERM’s mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and health, safety, and environment (HSE) business. ERM delivers a wide range of services including due diligence for M&A transactions, HSE risk management, strategy development aligned with sustainability risks and opportunities, policy/regulatory analysis, peer benchmarking, operating model and organizational readiness, and action planning around core sustainability topics such as climate change/GHG emission reduction and circular economy. We assist clients, including global companies in the oil and gas (O&G), chemical sector, electric and natural gas utilities, financial institutions, and process industries. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional looking to play a key role in working with an expert consulting team on leading-edge HSE and M&A advisory projects for Fortune 500 and privately held clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the management and delivery of low to medium complexity M&A and HSE-related proposals, including defining project objectives and benefits to clients, developing teamwork plans, and ensuring deliverables.
  • Support/lead project management activities under the direction of Partners, including managing budgets, identifying follow-up opportunities, monitoring client satisfaction, and managing risks.
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings with prospective clients and build your professional network.
  • Support the Partner in Charge (PIC) in interactions and commercial activities with client Account Directors/Managers to implement client and market segment-specific consulting programs in sectors such as Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Manufacturing, and Pharmaceuticals.
  • Assist corporate clients in conducting due diligence for M&A transactions, including identifying and evaluating HSE risks and liabilities.
  • Engage stakeholders and resources to deliver exceptional client value, ensuring the right expertise and competencies are applied based on the scope of services being delivered.

Teamwork and Organization

  • Demonstrate strong people management skills; particularly the ability to support, coach and celebrate others in order to advance employee engagement and achieve results.
  • Mentor junior staff in the proper planning and execution of projects, and in directing or conducting independent technical reviews of deliverable work products.
  • Manage team of up to three junior consultants.
  • Identify, evaluate, cultivate and manage partnerships and relationships with senior clients, external stakeholders and key opinion leaders.
  • Collaborate internally to bring our services to existing clients
  • Contribute to the achievement of ERM’s strategy, along with the company’s commercial targets and ambitions for profitable growth.
  • Provide leadership in communicating and enabling ERM’s health and safety culture.
  • Actively engage and inspire others in the team through strong collaboration.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to projects as part of multidisciplinary teams (desirable).
  • Support new business development campaigns and proposals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a similar discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 6-8 years of experience in a related field, such as private sector (power, natural gas, hydrogen, etc.), with 2-3 years in consulting required.
  • Demonstrable project management experience.
  • Excellent report writing skills. Fluency in both written and spoken English and Thai are essential.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • A good grasp of any of the following is an advantage: HSE risk management, M&A due diligence, regulatory compliance, and environmental assessments.
  • Experience in line management and/or contributing to the professional development of team members is a plus.
  • Structured and effective communicator capable of shaping and delivering messages to executive levels and facilitating effective client engagements.
  • Enthusiasm, initiative, flexibility, and a desire to work in a growing team.
