Description:

As part of the continued growth of our Mergers & Acquisitions and Sustainable Operations team, ERM has an opportunity for an experienced Managing Consultant to join our global firm, which has Sustainability at its heart.
Our clients are under increasing pressure to prioritise the environment, health, safety and social performance and reduce operational risk while remaining competitive. You will work as part of a team that helps our clients respond to these demands and turn sustainability from a necessary cost to a value creator.
You will join a national team working alongside some of Australia’s leading technical experts on a portfolio of opportunities that spans ESG due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, ESG advice and services aligned to the sustainable operation of the world’s leading organisations.

ABOUT YOU:

We’re looking for a team player with strong interpersonal skills who thrives on variety. Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified in science, engineering or environmental management (or equivalent), with EHS qualifications a bonus;
  • A proven track record in EHS, ESG and/or Sustainability consulting;
  • Strong environmental/ESG due diligence and/or EHS compliance experience;
  • Exposure to ESG aspects of mergers and acquisitions, asset divestment, project finance, private equity, liability assessment, value creation and transaction advisory is desirable;
  • Solid commercial acumen, business development and project management skills;
  • A total commitment to health and safety;
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), with experience writing proposals;
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and to work effectively under pressure and to deadlines;
  • An interest in travel, both within Australia and internationally; and
  • Current driving license.

Responsibilities:

In this fast-paced and dynamic role you will lead multidisciplinary projects across a broad range of ERM clients with a high degree of autonomy. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing technical reports;
  • Auditing sites as the lead assessor (Lead Auditor Credentials will be favourably viewed, but are by no means essential);
  • Managing project team(s), coaching and mentoring other staff;
  • Establishing strong working relationships with clients through project delivery; and
  • Building a strong network of resources by nurturing working relationships within ERM and participating in global technical communities.
