Description:

ERM is seeking a self-motivated Safety & Risk Consultant to join our Singapore office. This is an excellent career opportunity to work with an expert consulting team on challenging safety and risk projects for large global clients. You will work closely with Partners-In Charge and Principal Consultants on various risk management projects and at the same time have access to ERM’s international risk management experts who provide knowledge sharing of best practices across the industry and ongoing learning opportunities for the team.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Provide technical assistance on safety and risk projects involving risk analysis, modelling, calculations, and other studies.
  • Perform robust technically sound analysis based on reasoned argument and defensible data/information. Typical analysis and studies include:
  • Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA)
  • Fire and explosion modelling
  • Gas & smoke dispersion modelling
  • Risk calculations
  • Non-flammable hazard analysis
  • Escape, Temporary Refuge, Evacuation and Rescue Analysis (ETRERA) for off-shore facilities
  • Formal Safety Assessments
  • Safety Critical Element/Systems Analysis
  • Pipeline risk assessments
  • Cost/benefits analysis
  • Safety integrity level (SIL) studies
  • Experience with CFD Dispersion and Explosion Modelling is a plus
  • Develop improvements/changes to design to reduce risk or improve safety in operations
  • Participate in safety workshops (i.e., HAZIDS, HAZOPS, ALARP), and can lead/facilitate small workshops
  • Manage small to medium sized projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure deliverables produced are of the quality expected by the clients.
  • Work closely with ERM Partners-in-Charge and Principal Consultants to secure and successfully deliver projects.
  • Work with junior consultants in competency development via knowledge sharing and mentoring

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Master’s degree and/or Professional Memberships (IChemE, AIChE), Functional and Process Safety Certifications (TUV, CFSP/ CFSE, etc) is a plus.
  • At least 8 years with Technical Safety/Process Safety/Safety Engineering experience and projects under a variety of local, regional and national regulatory standards.
  • Possess strong written, verbal communication and data presentation skills.
  • Have experience managing small to mid sized projects, and have led a small team in delivering such projects
  • Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.
  • Experience in business development and client relationship management is a strong plus
  • Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
