Description:
SUMMARY
As a Business Control Manager, you will be responsible to establish robust business management framework for Pan Asia Fixed Income business. You will review and enhance existing controls, implement new measures to ensure adequate controls are in place. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships are required. It will be important to display both good decision-making and problem-solving skills, along with high levels of attention to detail.
SKILLS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS
- University Degree
- Minimum 20 years of experience within the financial services sector
- Deep knowledge of Asian Fixed Income and Derivatives products, corporate clients, competitors and regulations
- Risk control mindset which shows mastery of risk disciplines at securities wide and integrated level, risk processes, tools and techniques, capital management, risk related regulations and compliance
- Ability to manage resources remotely and deliver upon project deadlines and deliverables
- Strong team player and able to work across Mizuho platform to build and leverage relationships within bank and securities business to achieve objectives
- Possess strong confidence and ability to work under pressure and to positively influence others to drive risk management initiatives while being an efficient and collaborative business partner to all securities business lines.Minimum Level N1 in Japanese-Language Proficiency Test or equivalent is required due to frequent detailed communication with Headquarters and Japanese counterparts on business operations.

Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing Fixed income business projects and initiatives
- Acting as 1.5 line of defence to establish robust business management framework within the organisation.
- Identifying the origination of risk and understanding its implications for Pan Asia Fixed Income business.
- Ensuring existing controls are operating as intended and providing solutions to any deficiencies or gaps.
- Managing risks in line with Pan Asia’s risk appetite, policies, controls and limits.
- Liaising with Risk intraday re limits, disclosure of known risks. Ensuring compliance with the internal limit framework when conducting day-to-day business
- Taking relevant actions where necessary under adverse market conditions, and immediately escalate significant, current and emerging risks and internal control issues to the regional/country Risk Team and Senior Management (i.e. Front office or 2nd line)
- Establishing and maintaining a strong risk culture, owning the risk generated and ensuring adequate controls are in place for mitigation.Maintaining their own supervisory framework and overseeing the development and improvement of management processes.
