Overview:
SP+ GAMEDAY is seeking an experienced leader who can help us create and find efficiencies with plans related to new and existing clients and streamline operations while increasing productivity. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interacting with clients and leading teams (internal and external), 12+ years of progressive event management experience and prior experience managing budgets and teams.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • College Degree with a focus in finance, sports administration, business administration or related field strongly preferred
  • 12+ years of experience working in special events, venues or related fields
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time
  • Lives within 60 miles of a major US airport
  • License Requirement: Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record.

  • Manage budgets, work plans, external agencies, and vendors, including complex events, assigning appropriate staff and resources, and executing personally.
    Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 per year

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with the VP to ensure that they are fully informed of all relevant facts and pertinent issues related to staff, clients, vendors and projects
  • Collaborates with the VP to build a growth plan that ensures the development of each staff member
  • Works with the VP in designing and implementing an effective communication and management model to support and facilitate business objectives
  • Embraces opportunities to educate peers, clients and staff related to event operations
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders,, to ensure that the media and business operations of the Division are aligned with the broader goals and objectives of the Company
  • Leads and manages special projects and initiatives as assigned by the VP, including working with other senior executives to execute on key business priorities
  • Oversees, reviews, and manages projects and staff (both employee and contracted) by:
  • Reviewing the operations plans and working with the team to revise and meet the evolving needs and requirements of each opportunity
  • Ensuring the project leader’s facilitation of contracted resources through the proper procedures (following company and client guidelines)
  • Ensuring a proper change order process agreeable to the client is in place, documented and employed
  • Confirming proper incident reporting procedures are followed in all assigned projects and collaborating with the Risk Department as situations evolve
  • Ensuring the AAR process is followed by project staff for each project and that case studies are completed and metrics are documented
  • Reviews and manages project profitability providing forecasting as needed by:
  • Reviewing and amending all project budgets during and post events. This is done in collaboration with project staff and the Controller
  • Forecasting budgetary changes for annual projects
  • Develops additional business opportunities by:
  • Cultivating new opportunities for revenue with existing clients
  • Securing endorsements from existing clients
  • Cultivating new opportunities for revenue with existing clients
  • Securing client referrals to other opportunities
  • Soliciting New Business Opportunities
  • Ensures the effectiveness of company-wide management systems and controls by:
  • Adhering to all company-wide policies, procedures and controls (code of conduct, certifications, conflict of interest and LOA)
  • Supporting and promoting company values (integrity, excellence and innovation)
  • Delivers presentations to stakeholders and partners
