  Our Opportunity:
  We are currently seeking a Managing Engineer for our Thermal Sciences Practice in New York, NY. You will perform failure analysis and provide design support for complex problems involving fluid flow, heat transfer, mass transport, and combustion.

You will be responsible for:

• Developing test plans, instrumenting, and carrying out laboratory tests
• Conducting fire and explosion investigations
• Performing engineering calculations and analysis
• Preparing proposals and technical reports, and presenting findings to clients
• Starting the process of developing new clients
• Project work may require travel (within and outside of U.S.)
• Supporting multiple group projects, often simultaneously, and marketing the Thermal Sciences Practice and its consulting services
• Continuously growing and independently managing client relationships

You will have the following skills and qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Chemical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Fire Protection Engineering
• 3-5 years of industry experience
• Strong technical background in the thermal sciences (e.g. fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and combustion)
• Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Strong skills in laboratory methods including construction of experimental apparatus, instrumentation, data acquisition and data analysis
• Strong desire and ability to tackle a wide variety of engineering problems within and outside their direct areas of specialization

Compensation:
Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponent’s total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Manager level and above total compensation includes base salary, annual bonus, and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.
The base salary range for this position is depending on experience and capabilities, which will be assessed during the interview process.
Salary Range: USD $145,000.00 - USD $215,000.00 /Yr. Benefits you will enjoy:
