Responsibilities:

  • Providing a wide range of legal advice and support to the business (with a focus on LSEG’s Benchmark and Indices division), sales, technology and procurement teams in EMEA.
  • Reviewing, drafting, revising and negotiating a wide range of agreements with customers, vendors, partners and other third parties, including data licenses, software and other intellectual property related licenses, SaaS, outsourcing, master agreements, term and conditions, non-disclosure agreements, and other complex commercial agreements.
  • Advising and responding on legal issues related to the collection, usage and licensing of news/content/data/benchmarks and indices, AI and software services from multiple sources.
  • Advising and responding on legal issues relating to regulations impacting LSEG’s data products, in particular regulated benchmarks.
  • Advising and responding on legal issues (in a financial services context) related to cloud computing, resilience regulations (including DORA) and other emerging technologies (including AI).
  • Working with significant authority and autonomy to provide legal advice to internal stakeholders that may have significant implications for business performance, including in respect of litigation, regulatory issues, technology, vendors, intellectual property, privacy and cybersecurity matters, data misuse, and consumer complaints.
  • Working on general corporate and licensing matters.
  • Maintains close working relationship with relevant outside counsel and managed legal service providers.
  • Sharing responsibility for maintaining, updating and revising contract template agreements, processes and playbooks, supporting on special projects where required.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor regarding relevant markets, business strategies and operating environments to both the business and stakeholders, and identifies possible solutions to issues that arise.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of legal and regulatory developments that impact LSEG
