Job Description
AECOM is looking for a Managing Project Engineer (MPE) with an electrical background (E/I&C) to work on various small to medium-sized projects for the Orange County Sanitation District’s Small Projects Division (SPD) This role will be based at OC SAN Plant 1 in Fountain Valley, California.
The individual in this position must have a proven ability to execute engineering water or wastewater projects, encourage a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with all departments; identify problems, analyze information, and develop sound recommendations. This individual will act as a project manager and project engineer/technical lead and interface with OC San design and construction teams, and Operations and Maintenance. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills is essential. Familiarity with OC San procedures is highly desirable but not necessary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or related engineering field and 8 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering and design, including project analysis, feasibility, and budgeting required. or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer
  • Valid Driver’s License and must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in California, or able to obtain same in six months after hiring
  • Strong written and oral communication, quantitative and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor
  • Proactive on assignments and demonstrate initiative
  • Must work independently with minimal supervision, and complete multiple technical tasks under tight deadlines
  • Proficient with CAD and design software (Civil 3D, Bentley Design Suites, Water CAD, Sewer CAD, ARC GIS, etc

    Compensation
  • Exempt Position: The offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is USD $137,000 - $197,000.
