JOB SUMMARY

The Aerospace Manufacturing Production Manager is responsible for organizing, planning, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the machine shop floor, including managing the machining employees and coordinating with partnering departments like Avionics and Quality Management.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Five (5+) years of experience in manufacturing machine shop operations, specifically in a supervisor/manager position, or other relevant industry experience.
  • Strong background with CNC, machine/inspection tools and finishing operations for aerospace manufacturing, including CAM programming, milling, turning, waterjet, welding, and assembly operations.
  • Excellent CAD model, blueprint, and schematic reading skills including thorough understanding of GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.

  • Experience in machining nickel-based stainless steel alloys, copper, titanium.
  • Experience with 5S, Lean Manufacturing or Kaizen.
  • Knowledge and understanding of CMM programming/operating.
  • Outside processing knowledge (heat treat, plating, coating, EDM, grinding, etc.)
  • Experience machining with tight tolerance, high value components.
  • Experience with tooling and fixture design.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Stationary Work - occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force to transport objects, remaining mostly stationary, sometimes requiring moving about the work center on concrete surfaces.Computer Work - daily use of laptop, computer monitor screen, keyboard, and mouse, sometimes utilizing a headset with microphone & speakers.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the Machining and Finishing manufacturing operations for implant products to include planning, monitoring, measuring, and reporting of processes to ensure that Sidus Space’s production, quality, and delivery goals and objectives are met.
  • Responsible for daily assignments, training, overtime, and communication to the Chief Production Officer.
  • Plan shop floor daily and weekly activities utilizing equipment and resource capacity to meet production schedules.
  • Oversee/lead weekly production meetings with key shop personnel.
  • Identifying Continuous Improvement opportunities and implementing change to improve process, reduce cycle and setup times.
  • Ensure all team members follow work instructions, quality requirements and processes.
  • Ensure accurate machine shop staff data timekeeping.
  • Provide continued training and skills development for team members, and mentor junior team members.
  • Ensure start-up readiness for production - daily staff tag-ups.
  • Maintain machine shop organization, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Support design for manufacturing and provide job planning estimates.
  • Ability to perform interviews, evaluate talent and provide hiring recommendations.
  • Adhere to all Quality Management Systems standards and procedures
  • Treat all team members with respect and dignity ensuring a collaborative culture is continually developed and maintained.
