Description:

Juniper is an innovative lighting technology, design, and manufacturing company seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing team in Southington, CT. In this position, you will play a key role in producing Juniper’s unique, innovative lighting solutions.
The Manufacturing Engineer’s responsibilities include creating and maintaining standard operating procedures for new and existing products, supporting ongoing manufacturing by identifying and implementing solutions to resolve production issues, participating in cost reduction and quality improvement efforts, and influencing new product designs by providing input to improve process efficiency and product quality.
A successful candidate will help advance Juniper’s vision of redefining the industry with novel ideas and a hungry spirit to learn and grow alongside the greater team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent education and experience.
  • Five years minimum experience in manufacturing, process, or sustaining engineering role.
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
  • CAD/CAM experience.
  • Experience with ERP concepts and practices.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintains a continuous improvement mindset to drive innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with design engineering to provide manufacturability input on new designs and changes to existing products.
  • Works closely with the design and materials teams to transfer new products into production. Supports the manufacturing of prototypes and pre-production builds. Ensures essential process requirements are incorporated into the assembly process.
  • Creates and maintains work instructions, test procedures, and inspection documents.
  • Designs or specifies assembly tools and fixtures necessary to prevent errors and improve throughput.
  • Works with the production manager to support manufacturing cost reduction efforts via process improvements and automation solutions.
  • Maintains a continuous improvement focus and applies lean manufacturing principles to improve process flow and meet product quality and productivity.
