Space Systems Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer to work in our Madison, Al. office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Exhaust Gas Heat Exchanger (EGHE) team to accomplish their mission.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Provide manufacturing engineering aid for quoting, managing, tracking, and integration of space hardware, tracking deliverable hardware for traceability, discrepancies, and NCRS, and ultimately integrate and deliver hardware.
  • The person will also be accountable for participating in process development to improve overall system quality control.
  • Creation of work instructions, work orders, and manufacturing orders for the production processes/assemblies within the scope of the role.
  • Receive feedback and incorporate into process and manufacturing instructions.
  • Communicate manufacturing process changes and deviations to team members.
  • Provide aid to root cause manufacturing issues.
  • Engineering degree in manufacturing engineering, aerospace or mechanical engineering (or equivalent) with a minimum of 4-8 years of work history in a manufacturing environment is needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiar with AS9100 and Quality Assurance and Quality Control industry best practices
  • Creative problem solver; able to work in multi-disciplinary teams Excellent social, coaching, and influence skills.
  • Work history with Costpoint, Solumina, or SAP is desired.

Responsibilities:

Candidate selected for this position will work in an office/lab environment accountable for creating manufacturing orders, communicating with other manufacturing engineers, manufacturing lead, quality, safety, and technicians. The role consists of quoting, managing, and tracking hardware through multiple processes on its way to being integrated in to final assembly of an EGHE, space flight hardware.
