We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer that is creative, a problem solver, enthusiastic and passionate about what they do. You will be working as part of the Manufacturing Engineering team, supporting day-to-day operations, running improvement projects and supporting NPI.
The opportunity
In this role you will be supporting the Manufacturing team by reviewing and improving processes for a given product range on a continual basis. You will be required to promote change, lead small teams and implement modern techniques in order to support on manufacturing targets such as pass rates, on time delivery and efficiency. You will work across various teams within the business such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, NPI and Project Management Office. You will help to ensure that documentation is fit for purpose, support continuous improvements , deliver cost down requirements, identify risks and implement risk mitigations.
About you
You are likely to have either an HNC or degree in an engineering or science discipline, with relevant work experience in an electromechanical manufacturing environment, (ideally low volume, high tech). Experience with cryogenics, superconducting magnets or vacuum technology is highly desirable, however you will receive training. You will be familiar with the use of PFMEA, DFMEA and Risk analysis, as well as design for manufacture techniques and Six Sigma/lean principles.. Your ability to develop, document and control detailed processes and support technicians through build and test operations is essential, together with teamworking and strong communications skills for you to be successful in this role.
