Pneu Dart, Inc. is the leading global provider of remote drug delivery systems. We utilize innovative in-house design systems to produce products for the animal livestock and wildlife industries. We’re looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to identify opportunities for improvement, increasing productivity while maintaining product quality. The ideal candidate will have a natural drive to improve processes and lead dynamic projects that improve the way injectable liquids are delivered to animals around the world.

SUMMARY:

The primary role of the Manufacturing Engineer is to analyze existing systems and processes and identify value-added and non-value-added activities to solve design challenges and conceive, design, develop, and test innovative solutions based on analysis and organizational objectives. This Team Member will as well as implement and maintain automation techniques which maximize the efficiency of production lines. to include analysis of existing systems and processes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. This role will conceive, design, develop, and test innovative solutions based on analysis and organizational objectives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Mastery skillset in SolidWorks required.
  • Strong skills in Excel and other application software used in production of technical plans, drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge of advanced product quality planning (APQP) and production part approval process (PPAP)
  • Ability to collaborate with program managers, manufacturing leads, customers, and functional leads, and to provide daily direction and guidance to junior Team Members.
  • Extensive experience in factory automation, electromechanical systems, and PLC controls (hardware architecture and software programming).
  • Excellent mathematics, analytical, problem solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • In-depth understanding of lean manufacturing principles
  • Hands-on experience building small prototypes.
  • Ability to identify issues related to product quality or equipment performance through effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis, utilizing continuous improvement mindset.
  • Proficiency with analytical tools, workflow time studies, and process balancing.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Five or more years of experience in engineering required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering, preferred.
  • Experience with PTC Creo and Solidworks.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities:

  • Through independent analysis of production process, compile data driven proposals to support organizational growth and financial objectives.
  • Evaluate new and existing processes, equipment, and materials as an input for scheduling methods, performance metrics, and financial standards.
  • Perform structural analyses of components and assemblies, build prototypes, evaluate performance, identify issues, and make improvements.
  • Research and test design ideas to determine feasibility, utilizing lean manufacturing, kaizen, Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis to formulate and support innovation, corrective actions, and improvement.
  • Identify opportunities for preventing waste and inefficiency during production.
  • Develop automation processes to improve current methods through analysis of product requirements and customer needs.
  • Establish equipment standards to ensure reliability and repeatability in process and part quality.
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Design and develop robust manufacturing concepts to simplify and improve processes and ensure best practices.
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with a network of partners to promote effective project management, owning process from inception to implementation.
  • Lead and manage the drafting and design function, collaborating with key stakeholders in support of all company initiatives.
  • Create, write, and modify work instructions related to automated processes.
  • Create and maintain required documentation for manufacturing processes, including flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis, and line balancing.
  • Prepare materials and train key stakeholders on new work procedures, preventive maintenance, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all required governmental laws and safety standards.
