POSITION OVERVIEW:

This position is responsible for optimization of production processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring the smooth integration of manufacturing systems. This individual plays a key role in designing and optimizing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall product quality. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain effective production systems.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in IE, ME or similar Engineering degree from four-year college or university.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Relevant certification in manufacturing engineering or related fields may be beneficial.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred.

Responsibilities:

Process Design and Improvement:

  • Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve existing processes to enhance quality, efficiency and reduce production costs.

Quality Control and Assurance:

  • Work closely with quality engineers to implement and maintain quality control measures.
  • Proactively identify and address production issues that may affect product quality.
  • Identify root-cause and implement effective corrective actions to address quality concerns.

Equipment Selection and Specification:

  • Specify and select appropriate manufacturing equipment and tools.
  • Plan and implement Capital Budget Projects to support current production and NPI activities.

Cost Analysis and Budgeting:

  • Conduct cost analysis for manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to develop and manage manufacturing budgets.

Automation and Technology Integration:

  • Evaluate and implement automation solutions to streamline production processes.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and recommend their integration for process improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of processes.
  • Participate in new product development projects to provide manufacturing input.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Participate in Kaizen events to drive efficiency and process optimization.

Material Review Board

  • Review non-conforming products and determine disposition.
  • Support discussions with external suppliers to improve quality and cost.
