QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Proven problem-solving skills. Excellent technical, verbal, written, and presentation skills. Proven ability to work in a self-directed and team based environment is preferred.
  • Required: B.S. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or similar).
  • Required: 1-2 years Automotive Manufacturing Experience.
  • Desired: Practical application of Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma tools.
  • Desired: M.S. Degree in Engineering or MBA
  • Desired: Black Belt Certified.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops New and Improved Manufacturing Processes and Provides Required Assembly/Machining Process Definition and Documentation.
  • Achieve stability in all engine related processes by establishing process FMEAs, developing and implementing process control plans, and optimizing individual workstations to maximize output.
  • Specify, procure, and approve necessary tools and equipment required to sustain a flexible manufacturing process.
  • Develops and maintains new equipment project books, equipment FMEA standards, and Engineering operational standards for use across departments.
  • Manages facility equipment numbering, documentation, and IT system integration.
  • Conducts time and work sequence studies and implements required process modifications to manufacturing operations to improve quality and meet higher market demands.
  • Support the simultaneous engineering in support of new engine development projects and to plan, define and implement the related process changes within the given time frame of each of these projects.
  • Provides direction within working groups to set priorities, project plans, and due dates. Monitors activities within the team and coordinates implementations and final reporting to area Management.
  • Maintains Plant’s torque control tool spare parts management, tooling repair and replacement, and DC tool program back-ups.
  • Develops procedures and plant arrangements to ensure proper material handling and storage
  • Maintains control documents per ISO requirements
  • Participate in commissioning and new product launch activities.
  • Facilitates effective communication to plant management on project status.
