Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field strongly preferred.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years relevant work experience preferably in a construction equipment manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification preferred.
  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Suite and proficiency with Solid Works

Responsibilities:

  • Carries out process improvements, problem resolution, project management, and employee training in conjunction with Operations and Engineering Management.
  • Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery, fixtures and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
  • Reviews and analyzes data, first pass yield (FPY), Takt time attainment, line down time, and information in order to improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction quality improvements and efficiency.
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring projects, such as preparation of records of expenditures and research findings, progress reports, and staff conferences, in order to inform management of current status of each project.
  • Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.
  • Establishes and maintains standard work and work instructions. Develops and maintain electrical delivery of assembly documentation.
  • Working with supervisors, establish and maintain 5S in all stations of assigned area.
  • Assures ergonomic work practices are being followed and constantly being improved.
  • Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, new tooling, training team members and evaluating results.
  • Contributes to the product introduction process with respect to cost estimation, process investigation, schedule development and prototype manufacture.
