Description:
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERRED SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or mechanical engineering
- Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Minitab
ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Reasoning –Use logic or reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
- Mathematical – Arithmetic, algebraic and geometric calculations
- Language Development – Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand; follow technical manuals; have increased contact with people.
- Technical – ability to repair and/or improve equipment, processes, or systems using appropriate tools.
- Physical Effort – Heavy effort is required, exerting up to 20 pounds of force constantly, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 100 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
- Vision – Far, near, and mid-range vision, depth perception, color identification, and field of vision
- Activity – Regularly required to stand; frequently required to walk, climb, balance, reach with hands and arms, use finger dexterity, grasp, feel, talk, and hear; occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify opportunities for preventing waste and inefficiency during production.
- Research and test design ideas to determine feasibility, utilizing lean manufacturing, kaizen, Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis to formulate and support innovation, corrective actions, and improvements.
- Design and develop robust manufacturing concepts to simplify and improve processes and ensure best practices.
- Perform structural and thermal analyses of components and assemblies, build prototypes, evaluate performance, identify issues, and make improvements.
- Create and maintain required documentation for manufacturing processes, including flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis, and line balancing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain insights and direction.
- Assure any maintenance activity does not compromise product safety; comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
