Areas of Focus
Focus extends to collaboration with manufacturing engineers, local plant management, and IT groups for implementing and maintaining manufacturing PLC/HMI and automation systems. This includes evaluating and enhancing hardware and software safety measures, such as backup and disaster recovery protocols. The role also emphasizes general user support, assisting users across the organization with technical issues related to IT systems. Additionally, the engineer will be responsible for server and network administration duties, ensuring optimal functionality and security of the infrastructure. This overall focus is aimed at increasing efficiency, aligning with organizational needs, and complying with company policies on computer equipment, hardware, and software.

Responsibilities

  • Expertise in designing/managing manufacturing PLC/HMI and automation systems
  • Compliance with NIST security standards and company policies
  • Verification of hardware and software in the manufacturing process
  • Collaboration with plant teams to document system procedures and configurations
  • Minimizing business disruption during work changes
  • Providing software assistance to employees
  • Administering network resources and privileges
  • Technical assistance to technicians (non-supervisory)
  • Partnering internally/externally to implement system solutions
  • Configuring/installing network devices and services
  • Network and system maintenance including updates and security
  • Performance monitoring and system reliability assurance
  • Resource utilization monitoring and capacity planning
  • Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting
  • Adherence to change management policies for network infrastructure and security.
  • Security tool auditing
  • IT infrastructure and process documentation
  • Familiarity with Azure technologies
  • Keeping updated on current IT security risks

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Management, or related field highly preferred
  • At least 10 years’ experience in IT field
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Familiar with or experience in database administration, PLC’s and HMI devices
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, written and verbal
  • Strong project management skills
  • Solid understanding of network design and management, both hardware and software technologies
  • understanding of networking protocols
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
  • Able to work cooperatively and establish positive relationships with cross-functional and remote teams as well as with key business leads
