Role: Manufacturing Junior Maintenance Engineer
Location: Durham, DH1 2HE
Contract: Full-Time Hours / Permanent
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000

What will my role look like?
We are looking for a Junior Maintenance Engineer to work as part of our highly skilled and well-established Coopland’s bakery team, in this role you will report into the Engineering Manager and use your mechanical and electrical skills to work with your colleagues on conducting routine maintenance checks, assist overseeing repairs, improve production facilities and help reduce the risk of breakdowns & commercial losses.
You are an essential asset to the bakery and your support contributes towards the efficiency, development and progress of production which we pride ourselves on. You help ensure that our equipment and machinery is continuously operating smoothly and meets customer demands.

Responsibilities:

Carrying out routine maintenance work
Diagnosing and fixing equipment faults
Conducting preventative maintenance including oiling, greasing and cleaning machinery
Identifying risks and informing site engineers and Engineering Manager
Supporting with emergencies, unexpected issues and repairs
Following a maintenance schedule to ensure machines are in working order
Working closely with the production & hygiene teams in order to improve health and safety

Candidate Requirements
Flexibility to work different hours as you will be required to work different shifts
Previous maintenance experience within food production is desirable
Strong organization skills and the ability to multitask
Excellent communication skills
Ability to deal with technical issues and troubleshooting
