Join our Supply Chain and Manufacturing Team
The Diageo Supply Chain and Procurement business has 8 packaging sites, Runcorn, Belfast Beer Packaging, Sheildhall, Leven, Baileys Belfast, Baileys Dublin, Guinness Dublin, Santa Vittoria and Don Julio in Mexico. Leven is Diageo’s current Global Site of the year and it is also the largest of our packaging sites comprising of 3 large bottling halls, a luxury products area and extensive spirit supply areas.
We have a new opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to join us in Leven and drive the compliance agenda on site ensuring that not only are we on top of all our legislative requirements but that we are ahead of the curve, seeing what future changes are coming and preparing accordingly.
About the Role
This is a great opportunity has arisen for a versatile Control and Automation Engineer, with experience in Reliability, Manufacturing and FMCG. The role is responsible for the improvement side of the business. As a Maintenance Manager, you’ll drive effective and efficient maintenance on our production lines and provide specialist support and engineering functional expertise to the operations teams to resolve complex equipment problems and execute all scheduled specialist improvement activity on site.
You will be a member of a multi-disciplined team, you will lead and work with a wider engineering and production team to deliver value-added solutions to our bottling and packaging operations.
You’ll actively lead and sponsor Capex and brand change activity for your area of responsibility. You’ll lead Implementation Task Force (ITF) meetings and actively develop, promote and drive the sustainable implementation of our practices and processes including Diageo’s Society 2030 Water & Energy saving projects.
You’ll lead and advocate good governance around internal and external compliance including the delivery of outstanding performance in all aspects of Health & Safety, Quality, Environment, Asset Care, Delivery, Efficiency, Cost and Morale to always maintain regulatory standards taking ownership for identifying and implementing cost-effective solutions to optimise use of the repair and maintenance budget.

Other Key Responsibilities

  • Leading on performance analysis that drives improvement actions to address adverse performance trends.
  • Ensure Automation solutions stay in sync with the company policies and relevant Health & Safety standards and regulations.
  • Resolving systemic problems which include breakdowns, fault finding and partner concerns.
  • Owning the action focused team & contractors through collaborative communication with clear vision on medium term objectives aligned with Diageo standards.
  • Continuously striving for next level of performance through review of Autonomous Maintenance, Asset Care, Focussed Improvement and Collaboration.

About You

  • A minimum HND or degree level qualification in electrical or electronic disciplines. Control, instrumentation, and PLC experience is essential (Siemens Step 7 Classic and TIA Portal experience will be beneficial).
  • Knowledge and implementation of Industrial protocols (TCP/IP, Profinet, Profibus)
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), like SAP or similar.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment (Bottling, Packaging, FMCG).
  • Proactive structured problem-solving skills
  • Consistent track record of strong people/team development with ability to establish and maintain effective team relationships with multiple organizational levels.
