Description:

We are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Maintenance Support Engineer to join our Manufacturing Production Engineering team based at our facility in Whitley. Our Production Engineering team are responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of all production equipment and processes which enable the production of high-quality tele-healthcare equipment.
Main Purpose of Role:
As a Manufacturing Maintenance Support Engineer, you will play a central role in ensuring production of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and products to the highest standards of design and manufacturing excellence. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing the efficient day to day running of production equipment, overseeing regular maintenance, and taking the lead in implementing total preventative maintenance exercises across all plant equipment.
This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract role.
The Ideal candidate:
To be successful in this role you will have a degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent relevant experience. You will also have proven hands-on experience of providing maintenance to production equipment within a manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be a good communicator, collaborative in their approach, with good technical writing skills and have a proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude, able to demonstrate problem solving and analytical skills.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Have lead responsibility for conducting and overseeing TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance) exercises on all factory equipment such as screen printers, SMT pick and place machines, Reflow Ovens, AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection), wave soldering equipment and selective soldering stations,
  • Conduct proactive and planned maintenance across a wide range of factory equipment to support and maintain uptime, ensuring all equipment is fully functioning in line with the current manufacturing plan,
  • Work closely with process owners and management to identify issues and establishing corrective actions to improve the quality and yields of manufactured products,
  • Identify and report on engineering changes or process changes for yield, cost, and quality improvements whilst ensuring highest quality of manufactured products,
  • Generate and report performance metrics of manufacturing processes and taking appropriate action to maintain or enhance performance,
  • Draft process maps for daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance procedures,
  • Provide regular report on performance metrics on all process machinery,
  • Use own initiative to plan and manage individual and team projects,
  • Ensure that all machinery is maintained safely and efficiently in accordance with company policy,
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment, day to day adjustments and improvements through a total preventative maintenance exercise, to ensure that all machinery is maintained safely and efficiently in accordance with company policy,
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of all levels of manufacturing process technologies, methods, and techniques to assist and promote production of reliable, high quality PCB assemblies.Provide technical support and training to operators on daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent relevant experience,
  • Proven ’hands-on’ experience maintaining and supporting manufacturing production equipment,
  • Proficient in the use of measurement equipment (On-site training will be provided),
  • Good technical writing skills,
  • Good IT Skills,
  • Able to plan and proritise multiple tasks effectively ensuring quality and delivery to required timescales,
  • Able to demonstrate effective problem solving and analytical skills,
  • An effective team worker, collaborative in approach,
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written,
