Responsibilities:

As the Manufacturing Lead at OroraTech, you steer the production of our space systems. Your mission will encompass a broad array of tasks, blending strategic oversight with hands-on leadership to achieve production excellence:
Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and execute the manufacturing strategy, aligning with the company’s objectives to ensure timely delivery of up to 30 payloads and satellites per year. This includes setting short-term and long-term goals, planning for capacity, and ensuring resources are optimally allocated.
Budget Management: Take full responsibility for the department’s financial performance, managing budgets meticulously to forecast and track capital expenditures and operational costs. Your role involves making critical financial decisions to enhance profitability without compromising on quality or deadlines.
Team Leadership and Development: Build, manage, and nurture a high-performing manufacturing team. You’re tasked with hiring, training, setting objectives, reviewing performance, and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and efficiency.
Process Optimization and Implementation: Design, implement, and continuously optimize manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and scalability. You will standardize production workflows, implement best practices, and champion lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations.
Supply Chain Coordination: Oversee the entire supply chain from procurement to production, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of components. This includes negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and planning for inventory. To support this, a Procurement Manager will be hired in your team.
Quality Assurance and Control: With the support of a company-wide PA/QA manager, establish and maintain quality control (QC) measures that adhere to industry standards and contractual obligations.
Compliance and Regulations: Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and ethical practices. This involves keeping abreast of industry regulations, conducting regular audits, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Collaboration and Communication: Serve as the key liaison between manufacturing and other departments, especially Engineering and R&D. You will ensure open lines of communication across teams and up to the C-level, furnishing regular reports on production status, challenges, and achievements.
