The Opportunity
This role is a 12 months contract available as both Part Time (0.6 FTE) OR Full Time. The successful candidate will join the Manufacturing Support Engineering team at our Brisbane location (Newstead) .
In this role the successful candidate will utilise their problem-solving skills to provide solutions to production problems and act as a key contact for Manufacturing on yield and quality.

Accountabilities include:

  • Solve problems by using engineering tools, judgement, data, knowledge and insight
  • Overcome technical challenges by utilizing knowledge from all available source
  • Analyses Manufacturing rejects as required to reclaim where possible. Identify and rectify root causes of rejects.
  • Ensures Non-Conformance Reports and Concessions are processed accurately and effectively
  • Ensures adherence and compliance to the Quality System and relevant regulatory bodies
  • Identifies opportunities for safety, quality and cost improvements on the Manufacturing lines

To add value to Cochlear in this role you’ll be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes.

Must haves:

  • Hold Tertiary qualifications in Engineering. Prefer mechatronics, electronics, or manufacturing.
  • Proven competencies in problem solving, design, and manufacturing.
  • Great interpersonal and communications skills.

Ideal:

  • Enthusiasm for working in a similar manufacturing role within a highly regulated industry.
  • Experience in working within a manufacturing management system (e.g., Lean).
  • Experience in technologies like, but not limited to: SMT, moulding, manual assembly, die bonding
