Job Description
Renishaw’s CMM & Gauging Products Division is currently recruiting a Manufacturing Systems Engineer to support our end user customers, integrators and subsidiary installation teams.
Based at our global head office in Wotton under Edge, the successful candidate will collaborate with our sales and design teams to ensure all parties in Renishaw’s customer chain are enabled to fully utilise our range of inspection equipment within their respective manufacturing processes. We are seeing increasing demand for custom automated manufacturing solutions for large scale global accounts that require a comprehensive understanding of systems and compliance requirements - The successful candidate will support both the existing portfolio of CMM installations and the creation of custom manufacturing solutions to suit the specific needs of each customer. This will include .

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development and delivery of integrated and automated metrology solutions in high end manufacturing facilities (such as automated loading systems and designing metrology room layouts)
  • Advise and consult with customer representatives on the design of safe systems in compliance with the machinery directive 2006/42/EC.
  • Contribute and develop design risk assessments to ISO12100.
  • Development of PFMEAs / MFMEAs to support a thorough approach to design robustness and system recovery, along with support for all supplementary manufacturing documentation.
  • The role will require occasional travel to suppliers, other Renishaw offices and customer sites.

Key requirements

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Good understanding of electromechanical systems and electronics.
  • Awareness of drawing standards and technical file structures required for CE sign off.
  • Understanding of ISO13849, ISO62061 and EN61010.
  • Good understanding of PLC & HMI programming and have a good appreciation of various fieldbus and industrial Ethernet protocols.

Desirable requirements

  • Experience of design, installation and commissioning of automated systems in manufacturing.
  • Project management and the ability to effectively chair sessions with team members to plan an efficient route to delivery.
  • CAD experience will be beneficial.
