JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are currently seeking a proficient and dedicated Service Engineer with a strong technical background in maritime navigation and communication systems. The Service Engineer will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation and performance optimization of our cutting-edge systems installed on vessels worldwide. This role demands a meticulous attention to detail, a passion for problem-solving, and a commitment to delivering unparalleled technical support to our esteemed clientele.
REQUIREMENTS:
- achelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in servicing maritime navigation and communication systems, with a proven track record of success.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools, software utilities, and technical documentation related to maritime systems, such as radar, GPS, AIS, and ECDIS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and implement effective solutions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the capacity to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, often at short notice, to perform on-site service visits and support customer installations.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, with a commitment to adhering to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Execute the installation, configuration, and calibration of maritime navigation and communication systems, including but not limited to radar systems, GPS navigation systems, VHF/UHF communication systems, and electronic chart display and information systems (ECDIS) .
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments and troubleshooting procedures to identify and resolve technical issues promptly, both remotely and on-site.
- Perform routine maintenance activities, including software updates, hardware inspections, and component replacements, to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of installed systems.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, particularly engineering and product development, to provide valuable insights from field experiences and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and deliver technical training sessions and materials for clients and internal staff to enhance understanding and proficiency in operating and maintaining our systems.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, including service reports, work orders, and equipment inventory, in compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Stay abreast of technological advancements, industry trends, and regulatory requirements in the maritime sector to inform service practices and ensure adherence to standards.
