Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Marine Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of all mechanical and electrical systems onboard the cruise ship. You will work closely with the Captain and other crew members to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Engineer on board vessels
  • STCW certification
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems on board vessels
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and adapt to changing situations
  • Willingness to work long hours and be on call 24/7
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical systems onboard the cruise ship, including engines, generators, pumps, and other equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair any equipment malfunctions in a timely manner
  • Monitor fuel and oil levels, and ensure proper storage and handling procedures are followed
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
  • Train and supervise junior engineers and other crew members in the safe and efficient operation of equipment
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo as needed
  • Participate in emergency drills and be prepared to respond to emergencies at any time
  • Keep up-to-date with industry developments and new technologies related to marine engineering
