Description:

Purpose of role: The PMO Analyst will play a key part in supporting the PMO Manager and the rest of the Programme Management function as they increase Marine project and programme capability. The role holder will support a range of PMO activities, such as project controls and reporting, project planning including milestones tracking, risk management and secretarial function at major forums.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Co-ordinate delivery plans from programmes/projects for consolidation into a single portfolio plan for progress tracking and reporting purposes
  • Follow the stipulated approach to tracking key dependencies and report back to the appropriate forums as required
  • Co-ordinate reporting from programmes/projects and provide analysis of performance, ensure programme/project reporting is compiled and submitted to key stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Assist with financial controls and reporting (working closely with Programme /Project Managers and the Finance Business Partner)
  • Assist in the development of key project artefacts such as Business case, PID, PMO templates e.t.c and facilitate the reviews and approval process
  • Working with the PMO Risk Team to manage the Portfolio RAID Log, ensure required reports are generated in a timely manner for onward distributions
  • Support the establishment of a set of new strategic working groups and help colleagues establish terms of reference, KPIs and informing outputs
  • Working with Programmes to ensure a fit for purpose document repository is established in line with the Marine Business Operations guidance and assisting with setting the right filing standards where required
  • Schedule and administer key portfolio meetings, provide secretariat and maintain a log for all decisions made including actions and follow up completion

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong experience in working with set standards and project management guidelines
  • Good understanding of planning techniques and framework - end to end scheduling experience
  • Strong experience in financial control of budgets and reporting
  • Strong risk and issue management capability
  • Working in a growing PMO
  • Working and liaising effectively with business users at various level of seniority
