Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Marine / commercial operation, safety and quality standard of assigned vessels including but not limited to:
1) Monitor vessel’s marine / commercial operation performances.
2) Review / monitor of monthly Safety Messages, minutes of Safety Committee Meetings, Master’s Self - Assessment, ISM Internal and External Audits, Navigation Audits, ISPS Audits, CDI / SIRE and other Third Parties Inspection Reports and promptly taking up with concerned TSI all areas of concern.
3) Maintaining data base for assigned vessels’ Master’s Self-Assessment, ISM Internal and External Audits, Navigation Audits, ISPS Audits, CDI / SIRE and other Third Parties Inspection Reports for periodic study of trends and communicating those with HOD.
4) Maintain and administer assigned vessels’ Certificates.
5) Regular visit to assigned vessels for conducting Safety Inspections / preparations for Third Party inspections as per schedules.
6) During regular ship’s visits, conduct training / workshops using Company’s standard modules.
7) Regularly update in-house policies for assigned vessels.
8) Periodically visit the other MSI vessels for conducting objective audit and inspection.
9) Regular review / monitoring of assigned vessel’s charts and publications lists and requirements and closely liaise with the contracted vendor where applicable, to ensure all concerns are promptly addressed.
10) Assisting and instructing the assigned vessels’ Masters and ship’s Operators in various operational matters including but not limited to safe navigation, port rotation, cargo transfer and custody including tank cleaning monitoring – where necessary join the assigned vessel and act as Supercargo.
11) Reviewing of vessel’s deck / cargo / cabin stores inventories and in liaison with TSI, vetting and approval of deck / cargo / cabin stores and spare parts requisitions including allocation of category coding, follow-up of order status.
12) Involve in recruitment of Officers (Deck Department), including onboarding briefing.
13) Assist and advise Seafarer Department on various crew matters and handling of various P&I Claims.
14) Upkeep of various CBT programs and safety video / DVD libraries being used onboard assigned vessels and continually monitor and report the progress of onboard training and, if applicable, coordination with PSI for issuance of relevant certificates from concerned authorities for individuals who satisfactorily completed required training.
15) Organizing ship/shore drills with assigned vessels
16) If and when required, participate in other SMS management routine tasks such as periodical Manual revisions, drafting of Fleet Circular Letters etc.
17) Preparing deck and training budgets for assigned vessels.
18) Any other duties which the HOD may require.
