Description:
OVERVIEW
An international Ship Management Company located in Singapore is seeking a Marine Superintendent on permanent position.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of tanker vessels, including loading, unloading, and transit activities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for crew members and prevent environmental hazards.
- Coordinate with port authorities, terminals, and other stakeholders to schedule vessel arrivals, departures, and cargo handling operations efficiently.
- Oversee crew scheduling, training, and performance evaluation to ensure adequate staffing levels and competent personnel onboard.
- Collaborate with navigation officers and shore-based personnel to plan and optimize voyage routes, considering factors such as weather conditions, fuel efficiency, and port restrictions.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures to address potential accidents, spills, or other incidents during tanker operations.
- Monitor operational expenses, analyze cost drivers, and identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising safety or quality standards.
- Coordinate vessel maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and equipment upgrades, to ensure seaworthiness and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain regular communication with vessel captains, onshore staff, and external stakeholders to facilitate efficient information exchange and problem-solving.
- Conduct risk assessments and evaluate potential operational risks, such as piracy threats, adverse weather conditions, or technical malfunctions, to develop mitigation strategies.
