POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Recognised tertiary qualifications within a relevant field (Engineering)
  • At least 7 years of experience working a major Infrastructure project of similar size and complexity to the Snowy 2.0 project

. Experience in grouting or marine works

  • Sound understanding of civil and structural technical engineering
  • Competence in interpreting and explaining technical schedules and documentation
  • Good contract comprehension

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Complies with Webuild Group policies and procedures as amended from time to time
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a safe work site for all personnel and the public
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external interfaces
  • Coach and mentor Site Engineers as required
  • Incorporating environmental requirements into method statements
  • Implementation of all environmental controls in environmental management plans and procedures
  • Ensuring Plans, Procedures and Forms are adhered to
  • Developing and ensuring the implementation and ongoing management of Construction Method Statements/Work Procedures (CMSs/WPs), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and lots are opened and managed in a timely and effective manner
  • Ensuring latest revision drawings, procedures, forms and other relevant documentation is used onsite in consultation and assistance of the Document Controllers.
  • Reporting Non-Conformances, Corrective and Preventative action immediately following their identification
  • Ensuring Hold Point and Witness Points are adhered to, as detailed in the ITP
  • Arranging or undertaking testing in accordance with approved ITP
  • Assessing Quality Records to ensure compliance and ensuring records are updated in the electronic and hard files in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensuring RFIs put forth are closed within the requested timeframe
  • Assist in monitoring field production progress, manpower and cost quantities against budget and forecast cost of completion for each item
  • Assist in preparation of overall forecasts
  • Assistance in developing commercial and technical specifications for selection and engagement of vendors and subcontractors
  • Monitor and manage the delivery of vendor’s and subcontractor’s procurement items and services
  • Assist in administering subcontracts including progress payments and variations
  • Manages personal workload and ensures project deliverables are completed in a timely manner as per deadlines
  • Directs all community inquires to the Community and Stakeholder Department
  • Builds and maintains an appropriate relationship with relevant Client and Subcontractors representatives
  • Follow-up design changes by advising the appropriate construction teams and advising designers of buildability constraints
  • Identifying site temporary work’s needs
  • Ensure temporary works design and fabrication are verified prior use
  • Interpret engineering documents and drawings for field personnel
  • Provide general technical assistance to supervisory personnel.
  • Preparation and coordination of personnel, equipment and materials to ensure effective mobillisation to the site
  • Participate in the procurement process as required
  • Undertake the preparation of variations including taking off quantities and pricing
  • Coordinate and ensure compliance with all design, safety, quality, community and environmental related deliverables and documentation
  • Produce any related studies or documentation and method statements as required
  • Monitor, document and report, physical progress against schedule and any delays/interference which may have affected progress
  • Liaise with client representatives, Senior Project Engineers, Project Engineers and Site Supervision in relation to permits to work, JHA’s ITP, and any other requirements to enable the timely completion of the work
  • Ensure that all systems procedures, statutory requirements, engineering standards and sound construction practices are complied with at all times
  • Ensure all day works, variations and other claims and accurately recorded and reported and liaise with contract administration to ensure all financial entitlements of the company are protected
  • Actively pursue any gaps in engineering information that “may” leave the company exposed, or alternatively propose and agree through the proper channels a solution to the problem.
  • Assist, coach and mentor Site Engineers as required or appropriate.
