Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Market Surveillance Analyst to oversee and monitor our cryptocurrency trading activities. The Market Surveillance Analyst will be responsible for identifying and investigating suspicious trading patterns, market abuse, and potential regulatory compliance issues. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of cryptocurrency markets, trading strategies, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CAMS) is a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in market surveillance, compliance, or a related field within the financial services industry. Experience in cryptocurrency markets is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex trading data and identify patterns and anomalies.
• Familiarity with trading platforms, order types, and execution algorithms used in cryptocurrency markets.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing cryptocurrency trading, including AML/KYC regulations, market abuse directives, and exchange rules.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python) is a plus

• Monitor cryptocurrency trading activities on our platform to detect suspicious behavior, market offences such as market manipulation, insider dealing, etc.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of trading data, including order flow, trade executions, and market movements.
• Investigate alerts generated by surveillance systems and escalate potential compliance issues to the appropriate stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including Compliance, Legal, and Risk Management, to ensure timely resolution of surveillance-related matters.
• Develop and implement surveillance procedures and controls to enhance the effectiveness of our monitoring activities.
• Stay up-to-date on regulatory developments and industry best practices related to market surveillance in the cryptocurrency space.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for regulatory inquiries and audits.
• Provide training and guidance to internal teams on surveillance-related matters as needed.
